Portland-made axes, surfboards and bikes hit the shelves at new Pearl retail gallery: Portland Business Journal Press Hit: MadeHere PDX, October 2014

Portland's buy-local ethos will dig in its roots even deeper when MadeHere PDX opens its doors in the Pearl District this weekend.

The 3,000-square-foot retail gallery, founded by John Connor, Bob Davis, Chris Elkins and Paul Herring, will feature nothing but products made in Portland, from furniture and jewelry to leather goods, refurbished axes and custom and recycled tube amplifiers. It will occupy the former home of Powell's Technical Books at 40 N.W. 10th Ave. and open for business Saturday, Nov. 1.
